FAQ
Ordering & Shipping
Do you ship internationally?
Yes - I ship worldwide with Shopify partners.
How long will it take to receive my order?
International orders typically take 7–14 business days, depending on your location and customs. Original paintings may take a little longer as I carefully package them for safe delivery.
Will I have to pay customs or import duties?
If you're outside Hong Kong, your order may be subject to import duties or customs fees. These are determined by your country's customs authority and are the buyer's responsibility. I'll do my best to provide accurate shipping estimates, but I can't predict customs charges.
Artwork & Prints
Are these original paintings or prints?
Both. I sell original paintings (one-of-a-kind) and limited edition prints. Each product listing will clearly state whether you're buying an original or a print.
What's the difference between an original and a print?
An original painting is hand-painted by me - it's one of a kind. A print is a high-quality reproduction of an original, produced in a limited run. Prints are more affordable and allow me to share my work with more people, while originals are unique pieces that carry the full texture and energy of the original brushwork.
What size are your paintings and prints?
Sizes vary by artwork. You'll find dimensions clearly listed on each product page. If you're looking for a specific size, feel free to reach out - I'm happy to discuss custom options.
Do you offer framing?
I don't currently offer framing. Unframed prints and originals are carefully rolled or flat-packed to ensure safe delivery.
Custom Commissions
Do you take custom commissions?
Yes - I love working on custom pieces. Whether you want a painting of your favourite Hong Kong corner, a South African landscape, or something completely unique, I'm open to discussing your ideas. Drop me a message and we'll chat.
How much does a custom commission cost?
Pricing depends on size, medium, and complexity. I'll provide a quote once we've discussed your vision. As a rough guide, commissions start at around HKD 1,000 for a small watercolour and go up from there.
About the Artist
Are you based in Hong Kong?
Yes - I've lived in Hong Kong since 2009. I'm originally from South Africa, and my work is often inspired by the intersection of these two very different worlds.
Why do you paint Hong Kong?
Because it's the city I've called home for over a decade. I paint what I see, what I remember, and what I notice when I walk the streets. There's something about the light, the layers, and the energy here that I keep coming back to.
Do you paint other subjects?
Yes - my work includes Hong Kong scenes, South African landscapes, abstract pieces, and whatever else catches my attention. My cha chaan teng series, for example, came from a fascination with the everyday objects and rituals of Hong Kong life.
Payment & Returns
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept credit/debit cards and PayPal through the website.
What's your return policy?
I want you to love your purchase. If you're not completely happy with your artwork, please contact me within 14 days of receiving it. I'll work with you to find a solution.
Custom commissions are non-refundable.
Care & Display
How should I care for my artwork?
Keep your artwork away from direct sunlight to prevent fading. For unframed prints or watercolours, we recommend framing behind glass for protection. If you're unsure, I'm happy to offer framing advice.
